San Diego visit this year April 11-18 was as busy as ever for the Judge and his wife Frieda.  Taking a break from his official conference, he is joined by his golf buddies from Las Vegas to do a few swings in San Diego.  The Golf Pros Nick Rivera and Elmer Alcoba were busy somewhere and can not be found to join in on this mini reunion.

Wizard of Oz @ The Ed Mirvish Theater

Amelia graciously picked up dinner @ The Senator's (I am not sure if this restaurant has been named after the famous Canadian Hockey Team or as the words imply...The Senators on Parliament Hill),  followed by an Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of  The Wizard of Oz April 18th

I truly believe that if I was better prepared, I would have taken more pictures than what have been emailed to me by GloV's son-in-law Rolly Difuntorum.  In deference to Rolly's working schedule, I can only say Thank You for downloading these pictures in a hurry in order to meet the deadline I had set to wish GloV:

a  SAFE  FLIGHT  home !!!

GloV @ Lakvino Italian Restaurant on Bloor

I laugh every time I look @ the business card handed to me by our wait staff. Reason??? I do a double check that the place has not been named after "moi", specially so, that the restaurant's name has been printed in Italics.

Hosted by Luz Balbin (Class'56) @ Lakvina Italian Restaurant on Bloor Street, Toronto, a favorite @ the annex on April 13th. The bread basket served with a dip made of roasted pepper, white beans, garlic and something else is just the beginning of another amazing experience.

GloV and her Canadian Exposure

There are two things that come to mind when it comes to GloV.   1st.. the sunshine and heat of Baguio to ward off the blusterry cold winds of the North.  2nd, her social soiree would have been put to rest since she is vacationing up north away from the hustle and bustle of her matronly activities in Baguio society... No, no, nah, nada zilch... she is as busy as ever, if not busier, attending to the extended social circuit of up-rooted Baguio-ites. The expected heat and sunshine of Baguio did not put a dent to the cold wintery Toronto.  Fact is, everytime I wake up to a sunny day and decide at a moment's notice to show off our adopted city, winter brrrrr returns with a vengeance with snow flurries abounding, sleet and rain falling with mystical force.  Needling  her a bit, I said: her planned departure back to The Philippines has signalled the sun to take a peek, thus urging the temperatures to start climbing.

Estela's Updates

Belated Happy Easter to all. Hope and pray you are all in the best of health.

We, Ceferino, Danny, Ping, Cresencia and I had a hearty, delicious and sumptuous early dinner with Gali at Golden Pine, Legarda Rd. Special thanks to Rudy his brother who contacted us. After "kumustahan blues" Gali had mentioned Ahmee's proposal to donate P50K to the Balay Ti Alumni to be given during the grand alumni homecoming of BCHS on May 2013 wherein our very own Manny Flores will be awarded as outstanding alumnae of batch 62 "KUDOS".

As we have planned our list of projects : one is to sponsor scholarship for deserving students; one recipient is the grand daughter of Cresencia who wanted to be a band member in order to avail of her high school 100% discount on tuition fee. In this connection she has to buy one flute worth P18,500. The group was amenable to it. Aren't we happy that an "apo" of the batch can pursue her studies with our extended help? Accomplishment per grading period will be monitored.

One striking question of Gali : "Why is it that our own batchmates who are in Baguio and nearby provinces didn't attend the reunion wherein they are very near? How about us who came to attend from far distance? Anyway we are looking forward to the incoming reunions".

Before we parted Gali handed P5,000 to me to be spent by the group for the registration fee of those who will attend the grand reunion, May 2013.

May I update you on the financial report midyear of 2013 with the help of Winnie. Thanks and best regards to all.
