Celebrating a Birthday

Tonight, waiting for the Aurora Borealis phenomenon to appear, I sit in the comfort of my little kitchen instead of roaming the open spaces of the neighboring park... it is cold out there.  For a September day, it feels like the approaching winter nights of years before.

I keep watch of the skies from my bay window and as it gets darker I entertain myself to think we had a much more pleasant Thursday afternoon yesterday celebrating someone for her birthday.

Complete with antipasto and red wine, an order of veal scallopini, we had tartuffo ice cream around a centre of zabajone, covered in semi sweet chocolate and finely chopped nuts. As an aside, we shared a sweet (as sugary sweet) pecan pie.  All these made me forget how "old" the celebrant is this year, as we took pictures like three giggly teenage girls out for the first time away from parental authority.  Nice food, nice Italian ambience in the northern part of the city, nice company and lots of stories to tell.

"Smiling oldies"

Now checking, if I can catch a glimpse of that rare phenomenon which eluded us during our travels in June. If need be, I should just comfort myself to think that my "auroral" email addy is sufficiently displaying a greenish color.... LOL!

Welcome Party in Baguio

Amy's return to Canada two weeks ago will not deter continuing celebration of her Baguio visit with classmates of '62. Shown here with Baguio-ites, a 2017 reunion, marking 5 years of our grand Golden Jubilee 2012 was in the agenda. Let us get "bolder" as we get "older" celebration in the making!

(L-R): Danny, Winnie, Amy, Glo, Pat, Estela, Cef

Benguet coffee seems appropriate for the celebrant's toast!

Amy HN Vacationing in Baguio

Timing seems to even get un-coordinated. I have been planning to post some pictures of early summer holidays but other things seem more important.  Early today, I decided to just go ahead and post whatever material I have on hand and post the earlier photos as they come trickling in into my mailbox.

Amy's holiday pictures in Baguio which are posted here represents the end-tail of her 3 month long holiday away from Canada.  Her usual Italian break-away was of course spent in Northern Italy, in the outskirts of Milan. Their agrotourism escapade in Tuscany and the neighboring towns led Vittorio to convince Amy to journey through Russia taking the Trans Siberian tour. Their journey started from the west @ St Petersburg taking them more in land to Moscow passing the frozen city "Krasnoyarsk" to more forests in Siberia and finally to Russia's easternmost city of Vladivostok.

Two weeks of  train ride (ouch .. sakit puet and tuhod!) led them further to visit the Philippines, Baguio in particular.  She seems happy meeting classmates of 62 [photos of this meet will be published soon as I get them].

Since this is an open invitation, please make your reservations early as it will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
