Financial Updates

The distributed financial reports over the last few days give us a reason to smile.  Thanks to the tight rein by Estela Espejo-del Val (Treas) over the class finances & our Secretary,Winnie Oliva-Sapin for her updates.

The current balance as at July 30, 2012 = Ph 127,690.00
(with more donations coming in !!)

The Golden Jubilee reunion (a dream of 7 months ago), gave us an opportunity to voice out our suggested projects, during the May 5, 2012 meeting presided by out going Prexy Abit Florendo-Natividad.  We, as a class are now ready to act on our projects.

The current administration headed by Daniel Lee (President), Ceferino Cawaon (Vice-Pres) with Estela and Winnie are eagerly awaiting the completion and delivery of the suggested projects.

Your urgent recommendations will facilitate the completion of this task.

  1. Decided to give my recommendations for:
    (3) Scholarships @ Ph24,000.00 = Ph 72,000.00
    (1) Balay Iti Alumni @ Ph 50,000.00

Remaining (plus the on-going donations) for the Mutual Assistance to a Class'62 member project.

  2. I just want to comment re Scholarship Project:
The amount is PhP24,000 not $24,000 broken down as follows: PhP6,000 each year for 4 years. The money is to be handed over to the Scholarship Committee. Saan ngata nga maymayat no maamuan tayo (through the officers, of course) no sino dyay recipient agraman ti parents or guardian na tapno ma-follow-up ti progress na through the years until ag-graduate. Matutukan ken matulungan pay daguidyay sabsabali nga needs na like funding for her/his projects, participation in school activities, etc. It pays a lot if there is an open communication between the recipient and the Class '62 officers from time to time tapno sigurado nga makalpas isuna. Mai-treat tayo isuna iti simple lunch every end of the year. Kasla nga miembro ti Pamilya Class 62

  3. I prefer to allocate at least P50,000.00 to be donated to the Balay project. The purpose is more of a permanent nature and will be more beneficial to a great many people. Scholarship is good but, only if we have the financial ability to maintain it every year and for a long time. I'd like to be charitable as well but, how are we going to quantify one's needs without being dicriminatory.

    2. Also, Scholarship @ Ph 24,000.00 for each recipient covers the entire high school duration of 4-6 years. NOT a yearly allocation.

  5. Would like to maintain the original agreement at the last Class'62 group meeting last May,2012:a)Scholarship of P/24,000x2=$48,000.b)Balay contribution of P/50,000 c)Balance for the needy classmates but to be reviewed by the membership after proposal is stated by the exec.
Please be discreet in disbursement, transparency and accountability.Thx-Ahmee H-Nanni

  6. Manny and I are with Gali for the same reason, and also because my Manong Art was (and I believe still is ) very passionate about the Balay iti Alumni project, for which he gave his time and treasure unselfishly. All his personal contributions were in the name of the Florendo family.
Although Ahmee is right about some agreements we made during the meeting at Beth's place last May, I remember that there were questions about the manner of selection and the absence of status reports of the scholars. Please count 2 votes for the Balay project.
