"Uncover the Anonymous Donor Fund"

Thank you for taking on the unenviable task of counting the group's money and making sure it is in a safe place, hopefully making more money until reunion day.
I wonder if I can share an idea to help stimulate others to give, to invite and give to the fund. I call it the "Uncover the Anonymous Donor Fund". It works this way; it starts with an anonymous donor who gives an amount. If one is curious enough to know who is the anonymous donor then one or a group of persons will have to match the amount to "uncover the identity" of the anonymous donor who is then announced to all the members. In turn the identity of the one who matched the amount is kept secret and they then become the next anonymous donor. The identity of the next anonymous donor can only be reavealed if another person or group of persons can match the amount. The "game " continuous on and anonymous donors are revealed for as long as other persons keep mathcing the fund. The last anonymous donor can then be announced during the reunion with fun and revelry (Who is the last donor?, what if the whole group throws in 5 or 10 times the amount of the last donor if the name is to be revealed, etc other ideas to this effect). Some ideas to consider: the donor amount should be something reasonable and "small" so as not to deter others and to prevent the "game" to stall. if donations are larger than the amount to uncover the donor's identity they can be funneled to another donation category such as a "gift " category. I hope this idea can be shared with the others. We can talk about how to start it with seed money. Atong

Hi Atong. I like your idea of an "Uncover the Anonymous Donor Fund" and I hope someone would step up soon to be the first on the line (let's hope a long line) of anonymous donors. But how should that person or persons begin the game? Could this be by that person or persons relaying their donation to Marcial who will then announce the anonymous donation amount to all of us? Benjie, Good of you to endorse the idea. First one I've heard from. Yes, the most efficient way would be that the donation be given to Marcial and he be the "keeper of secrets" announcing a donor has started the ball rolling as well as "uncovering" the donor when the next anonymous person or group of persons match the contribution and so on. If the idea takes hold I think we should be able to raise a little bit more than the trickle that is coming in now. Amounts of Ph 5,000.00 would be reasonable for many to give and continously matching it as we get going. As I suggested if anyone wants to give more than this amount at any given time, it can be set aside as "extra donation" to another side fund. I suggest we keep the amount constant and reasonable so as not to exponentially raise it beyond the "easy" means of anyone. One can always break a "big" contribution to this suggested amount and be the anonymous donor to be uncovered as many times if one wants to. If you and others support the idea, I'm sure we can start sending Marcial the amount and he can get the "Uncover the Anoynmous donor fund" rolling. Atong
