This heart disease preventive actually saves you money
In the current economic climate, we're all looking for ways to save money. But none of us wants to scrimp on our health. Well, what if I told you there's a way to prevent heart disease and actually save you money while you do the treatment?
Not only is it possible, but a new study says it works. Researchers conducted this study on 68 healthy patients. All of them had normal weight. The researchers split them into two groups. The first group had 40 people (20 male and 20 female) who fasted for 12 hours per day. Second group had 28 controls (14 male & 14 female) who did not fast.
Read on:
The researchers took blood samples for one month. Those who fasted had significant reductions in inflammatory chemicals compared to controls and levels measured in the fasters one week prior to fasting. These inflammatory chemical included Il-6, the dangerous C-reactive protein, and homocysteine. There were no changes in cholesterol and triglycerides.
You might wonder how simply avoiding food for 12 hours might reduce your risk of heart disease. Here's my take: I've been telling you how insulin is the hormone of aging and death. Insulin promotes inflammation. Fasting, even for 12 hours, will lower your insulin production. Our modern society is awash in excess insulin due to dietary excesses. Calorie reduction is the surest way to extend life. Here we see positive changes by avoiding food for just 12 hours a day.
The easiest way to avoid food for 12 hours is to not eat after 6:00 p.m. By the time you wake up and eat breakfast, you'll have 12 hours of almost effortless fasting. I know many people who fast one full day a week and love it. No matter how you do it, reducing pancreas's exposure to food will lower your insulin production. By lowering insulin, you can expect to reduce your chances of developing the highly inflammatory metabolic syndrome and many other diseases, including heart disease.
Once again, in these hard economic times, here's another easy and costless way to dramatically improve your health. And by cutting back on your eating, this is one treatment that can actually save you money.

[[Excerpts from an article published by same author:]]
Published research overwhelmingly has shown that so-called "diet" drinks do nothing to foster weight loss. In fact, the evidence clearly shows that they increase weight.
Read on:
How might that happen? When you drink something that tastes sweet, your pancreas responds by making insulin in preparation for a natural load of sugar. No sugar comes. So your blood sugar drops and you get hungry. You eat more and gain weight. Furthermore, "diet drinks" are loaded with aspartame. Aspartame is 10% methanol, a horrible neurotoxin. Aspartame causes a large number of neurological abnormalities. I consulted my own dentist today for his take on it. He prefers patients to drink sodas containing sugar rather than the poison. At least your body recognizes sugar, even if not good for you. Aspartame & other sweetening chemicals are foreign to your body.

It is a strange coincidence that we posted a lost and found in our class blog looking for Xerxes Munar, yesterday May 17/09...It would never occur to me that, that name is ever going to be duplicated, unless you are a JR. If you are from Baguio and a graduate of BCHS Class 62, check our class blog @ www.bchsclass62.blogspot.com. At the blog site, the last picture posted is of Xerxes Munar circa 1966. If you are not the person we are looking for, email me anyway to confirm. Thx, aurora
