TRIBUTES:
As time marches on
inexorably, each of us, one by one, shall heed our individual summons "to join
that innumerable caravan that moves to that mysterious realm where each shall
take his chamber in the silent halls of death," to quote from one of the poems
we learned in Ms. Dolores Valdez's class, this one being William Cullen Bryant's
"Thanatopsis" (which he wrote at age 17!). Now that Xerxes has gone on that
journey ahead of us, I would like to think that he is now in a far fairer
place. But it is his family and loved ones who are grieving his passing on, and
I join Araceli in offering my thoughts and prayers that God provide his family
in particular with "the strength to go through this difficult time."
Xerxes, we shall all be together again -- in a reunion even grander
than our Golden Anniversary in 2012. But don't hold your breath, because some
of us don't want to hasten our change of residence from earthly to ethereal!
It's just a matter of time, though, and your patience shall be rewarded -- even
if it means that some of us will not, following Dylan Thomas's advice, go gently
into the night.
I am so sorry to learn of Xerxes passing. My thoughts and prayers are with
his family. May God provide them the strength to go through this difficult time.
May Xerxes rest in peace.
Classmates, take care of yourselves.
God Bless, AraceliClassmates, take care of yourselves.

Snow Storm Heralds Christmas!
Just an observation from the bay window beside my work table:
| Dec 22 - Day of the Storm |

| Dec 23 - Day after the Storm |
The trees seem more bent today (December 23// writing this December 24th) than yesterday. The sun is out and the snow is melting; the wet snow is pulling down the branches? The weather is pegging me to my chair! I am housebound for the moment until the sun melts the ice on my driveway. Amy refuses to send the troops from Beechborough Avenue, as they had work-detailed their neighborhood, cracking ice on seniors' driveways, while New Jersey Gali is out partying for the evening; Arnold in Vegas, gone golfing @ 30C!
